The 15 Steps Challenge is a tool to help identify improvements that will enhance service user experience. The 15 Steps Challenge team, including a service user/carer, a staff member and a board member or governor, walk onto a ward or clinical area and take note of their first impressions. The Challenge toolkit helps structure these observations, and capture the confidence and trust that is seen, heard and felt. The team are asked to specifically comment in 4 areas:  Welcoming,   Safe,  Caring and Involving, Well Organised and Calm The 15 Steps Challenges were initially implemented across the Forensic Division inpatient areas in 2013. Throughout September and October 2015, these challenges have been repeated to ensure good practice has been sustained and to consider ways to further enhance patient experience. Staff, service users, volunteers and governors have so far visited 30 wards and therapy areas. The Rosewood Involvement Centre and its volunteers have been out and about helping the 15 steps across  Rampton  see attachment for full report
