As part of the project to develop a new service which brings together physical and mental health services in Bassetlaw a visioning day was held in Worksop on 3rd March 2016. The event, attended by over 50 people including service users, carers, members, Governors and staff, was part of the Bassetlaw Service Transformation project. This project is looking at how the Trust can provide a more integrated approach to physical and mental health services in Bassetlaw, closely aligned to primary care.

Simon Smith, Executive Director of Local Services Division, and Paul Smeeton, Chief Operating Executive for Health Partnerships, talked about their ideas for the future. Lisa Bromley, Bassetlaw Clinical Commissioning Group’s Executive Lead for Service Development, shared their ambitious Mental Health Strategy.

There were a number of lively workshops that looked at what needs to change and what good would like in Bassetlaw and how we would achieve this.

The discussions from the day will help to further develop the project and be part of the process of strengthening partnership working in the area.
