Increase in participation at group interventions in AMH as a result of feedback

Some of our CMHT teams in AMH had up to 80% of service users who were suitable for group interventions for emotional distress but who stated they would not be able to attend due to feeling exposed and vulnerable in front of others.  One of the CPN’s set up an individual clinic to provide a safe space to begin work on distress management. Two thirds of services users who attended the clinics then went on to feel confident to access the group interventions appropriate to their needs.  Many positive comments were received including “I made new friends who were in a similar situation and it really helped to talk through problems”.
