Dedicated crisis team for children and young people now in operation

Crisis care features in much of the feedback we receive about our mental health services. This is not necessarily a reflection of problems with the service, but could also be because of the significance of good care at a time when you feel your worst and are in need of an emergency response.

For some time, young people, carers and families have commented on the need for a dedicated crisis support service for young people, with specialist staff and specialist care packages designed to better suit the lives and coping strategies of young people.

In response to this feedback, our Local Services division now operate a CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) crisis team to help young people.

Feedback about the service has been positive, and has described it as ‘much needed’.
