Older patients at Lings Bar hospital have raised complaints about the noise levels at night at Lings Bar Hospital, commenting that it is hard to sleep with various sounds including beepers, and that some noises are loud of enough to wake them from their sleep.

In response to these comments, staff have installed a new nurse call system which is much quieter, and means that nurses can easily and quickly contact each other in a way which does not cause unnecessary disruption to patient’s sleep.

There is also work ongoing to reduce the noise made by night staff on the wards.
