Older people's services supporting dementia carers group at The Rosewood Involvement Centre

23/05/2016 by Amy Gaskin-Williams

A member of staff shared a posting on Patient Opinion, on behalf of a carer, about the dementia carers group held at The Rosewood Involvement Centre in north Nottinghamshire.

"We would like to ask if the Trust can identify guest speakers who work for the older people service to come along and chat with us as we are very keen to link into the Trust and help it change services and lives of our loved ones and also link us to other carers."

The posting can be read in full on the Patient Opinion site.

A range of people responded to the posting, including Andrea Ward (General Manager for Mental Health Services for Older People) who responded to say that she would encourage speakers from services near to Rosewood to attend the group. A further response from the Activity Coordinator for older people’s services in Bassetlaw requested a poster to display to help encourage other carers to attend the group. A final response was posted from the Team Leader of the community mental health team in Newark and Sherwood explaining that staff had come forward to speak to the group and offered to support the group at times through the year.
